In Costa Nova and Vagueira With The Horizon 202 Panoramic Film Camera
A couple of weeks ago I took the Horizon 202 panoramic film camera to Aveiro and had a wonderful time. Since then I've been desperate to take it out again, and last week was the perfect opportunity. For several years, perhaps over a decade, every time we go to Vagueira, or leave Costa Nova, we pass by a couple of locations that I've always wanted to stop and take a photograph, but have never been able to.
Well, last week we managed it. We stopped in Costa Nova for a fabulous lunch, then on the way back made a few stops. First at a derelict house by the side of the road, just outside Costa Nova. I've been there once before, many, many years ago, and since then the building has nearly completely collapsed, leaving just a couple of walls standing.
From there were followed the road along the river to the roundabout leading into Vagueira, or inland to Vagos and Palhaça. There we stopped to photograph an old factory, that looks like it's going to be redeveloped into flats, and a lovely sculpture that has been adapted from the blade of a wind turbine.
Then we made our way towards Vagos on our way home and stopped to photograph a derelict house that has sat abandoned by the side of the road for decades. This was the location that I really wanted to stop at, so I spend quite a long time here, and it was worth it.
I used Harman Red on our day out, rated at the box speed of ISO 125, and couldn't have been happier with the results. To measure the exposure I used the Camera Meter app and I've posted the whole roll in an album (https://www.flickr.com/gp/147583812@N06/E0jahVr43u) on my Flickr, light leaks and all, if you want to see the rest of the images.
