Another contender for circuit bending, the Konica Minolta DiMAGE G400 Digital Camera, 19 September 2023

Along with the HP Photosmart R817, a 5MP digicam from 2005, I also picked up this Konica Minolta DiMAGE G400, a 4MP digicam from 2004. I'd like to use these for circuit bending, but first I'd like to see how it performs.

Today was a lovely day, and I had to go to Aveiro to drop off some films at the lab so I took the G400 with me. All images were taken with the camera on program mode, where the device chose all of the settings. I had been playing with the menus a few days ago, checking that I could set the camera in monochrome mode for digital trichromes,  and I completely forgot to reset the camera back to colour mode, so the first few images came out in black and white.  I did like this, though.

On my return I set the camera to black and white mode and took photographs with a Hoya 720nm Infrared filter and red, green and blue filters to see if I could create a digital aerochrome. The infrared sensitivity of the Konica Minolta DiMAGE G400 Digital Camera was really impressive. With the infrared filter we get a lovely image, and the digital aerochromes were really nice.
