In Oliveira do Bairro with the Olympus Camedia C-3030, 07 July 2023

Today we went to Oliveira do Bairro and there was enough time for a good walk around the town. Of course I took my latest acquisition, the Olympus Camedia C-3030 digicam from 2000. As well as some 'regulsr' colour photographs I was keen to test out the wonderful infrared sensitivity of this vintage digicam in an urban environment. 

Of course the infrared results were fabulous, filled with greys and deep reds. I was also encouraged to try some red/blue channel swapping on these images. Channel swapping infrared images is somewhat that I have wanted to try for a long time. However,  I had always been a little wary of the complexity of the technique. Turns out I needn't have worried. Channel swapping was simply setting the blue in the red channel to 1 and the red in the red level to zero, and vice versa in the blue channel.
