At the Aliança Underground in Sangalhos, 26 June 2023

We went to the Aliança winery in Sangalhos a few days ago. It was a great experience but we were told when we booked the previous Saturday that we couldn't take any photos so I left the Gameboy behind. Turns out that taking photos wasn't a problem.

I had expected an exhibition about wine making, and a visit to the caves, but the Aliança Underground is much more than that. Turns out that the original family who owned the winery were avid collectors of art, minerals and fossils, and the caves that were once full of bottles now contain exhibits. It was quite wonderful.
